Clint Eastwood’s latest film is a dissection of the life of one of the most powerful men in American history - J Edgar Hoover. Giving a powerhouse performance, Leonardo Di Caprio delivers a blistering portrayal of a flawed man who was also a closet gay.

The attention to detail of the film is superb, as well as the portrayal of the moral and personal quagmire that Hoover found himself in by the end of his life. Taut and always engrossing, J Edgar is a fine achievement.
